Going South!

In a whirlwind of events this summer, the Meatheads have hit some all-time highs. Our first win in Chicken, coupled with our First KCBS Grand Champion Call, followed by our 3rd Reserve Grand Champion in 2 years, we've been riding high all season.

Shortly before we headed off to the Hudson Valley Rib Fest in New Paltz, NY we had our application for the American Royal accepted. To be part of the largest BBQ event in the world, and to represent NY state, and the Northeast part of the country is both a humbling and terrifying feeling. But we haven't back down from a challenge yet and don't plan to now! So we'll hitch up the trailer, pack the smokers, (maybe not the grill this time) and head on down to Kansas City to join in the fun.

In Hudson Valley, we continued our run of top 10 finishes, coming in 8th overall, with our Pork just barely missing 1st place by 0.0002 points. Our Empire State Championship rankings are stable and we still have a shot of the state title at Oinktoberfest.

Finally, out of the 12 competitions in New York for the year, the Meatheads won the draw for a berth at the Jack Daniels World Championship of Barbeque representing New York. With so much positive energy coming from our friends locally, abroad and all over the BBQ world, we've got our eyes set on winning and bringing the victory back home. Lynchburg here we come!

All the best in October representing NY state at the Jack Daniel's Invitational. Being a Canadian team but spending most of my bbq time in the Empire State I have for years watched your team grow and become one of the most consistent, and feared (in a good way) teams on the circuit. New York will be well represented this year at the World championships and all the best from myself and Mark
